Stuart Smith
Born in 1913, he achieved a BA in French. Was Headmaster of a Secondary Modern school
in Saltburn-
His interests include stone polishing, wood carving, making jewelry, drawing and painting and, of course, writing. Stuart has published a book of poems.
He retired in 1973 and moved to Goathland on the Yorkshire moors, where he taught French during the Easter and Summer terms at Whitby Secondary Modern to O and A level students.
Stuart often entertains colleagues with poems he has written or with well known monologues to which he might add his own interpretation.
